Our house was built in 1910 and was used by the cloth-maker family Kampf and Spindler as an office for their growing factories in Hilden and area.

Cheap cloth imports from South-East-Asia forced them to shut down manufacturing operations in 1973.

The Römer family bought the building in 1978, refurbished it and opened the Hotel am Stadtpark with a restaurant, 58 rooms, a swimming-pool and sauna, on August 8th 1988.

Already in February 1990, the hotel expanded with 47 additional bedrooms and 4 conference rooms. Due to repeated requests, a modern conference centre of 170 m² was added in 2000. This addition created a very nice courtyard which can be used in the summer as a patio and place for relaxation.
